    Then listen to your parents.

Tell them that there are plenty of other sources of protien other than meat such as nuts and eggs. Or you can compromise with them and don’t eat meat, but eat fish (fish is an animal, but “technically” it’s not meat). This is actually how my mom felt when I decided I wanted to go vegetarian, but about a week after I asked her she got a magazine in the mail about becoming vegetarian and Vegan and whatever, and she decided to let me and she became one too! It was like a calling or something…. lol :) you can also find replacements for meat such as Morningstar and Boca products, and they have the same protein and everything that meat has, but they’re much lower in calories and fat . Hope I helped!
    Good luck and God bless!

it’s a myth that when you’re a vegetarian, you don’t get enough vitamins and protein. soy products are great, and there are also vitamin supplements. but the vitamins and proteins can be found in some vegetables or nuts too. if your parents don’t believe that you can be healthy without eating meat, go to some nutritionist and he’ll tell you what to eat to get the right amount of vitamins, etc. and maybe he’ll convince your parents that Vegetarianism is not a bad thing :) .
    i hope you’ll convince them

There is a great book titles “generation V”
It is written for a teenager, that wants to be Vegan/vegetarian and parents that aren’t.
Get it and read it. It is really good.
    Good Luck

Show these websites to your parents and stop eating meat.
This website, run by the Mayo Clinic, has a copy of the vegetarian food pyramid on it. Use it when planing your meals.

Show you are mature enough to make sure your health is taken care of.
Make a list of all the foods, that aren’t meat, that contain the same amount of protein, vitamin, and minerals. You may even shock them by showing them veggie eating plans that contain more nutrition than meat!!
You can check out a nutrition book from the library or do some research online. There are plenty of websites dedicated to Vegetarians.
Please make sure you do it Healthily !

  7. First of all how old are you? Second why would you ever want to give up meat it’s the best thing in the world. My cousin is a vegetarian and every time we go out she has to order a salad and hates it because she says she doesn’t like it but she lies. Meat rules you stink for not liking it.

  8. There are many ways to get protein. Not just through meat.
Do some research. Beans provide a ton of protein. Being a vegetarian is healthier than eating meat anyway. Google the “benefits of becoming a vegetarian.” There are SO many. It lowers risks of SO many different diseases.

  9. Try creating a meal plan that provides a good amount of protein and vitamins. Gather a list of these meals to show your parents. Doing this might show your parents that you can get your dietary needs in without eating meat and it will show them you’re serious about your decision.
    Good Luck!!! :)

  10. i have parents just like yours…….
i dont know how yours parents would react but i didnt ask my parents if i could become a Vegan..i just went ahead with it and my parents werent happy the first week… they thought i would give up after the first day but nope…(my family revolves around meat) i wasnt a veggie before so it was really bad
DONT GIVE UP IF YOU DO BECOME A VEGETARIAN!!!
or your parents will never take u seriously j/k ^-^

  11. ask them why it is that they feel they know what diet is best for you when they still believe that meat is the only source of protein.
