Trust me. You can stay plenty healthy on a vegetarian, even a Vegan Diet. It's all about how you balance it out. Like any diet, being a vegetarian requires you to eat food from every food group (excluding meat). A meat eater can be just as unhealthy. Lack of exercise and poor eating habits can also attribute to bad health.

There's nothing in meat that other foods lack. Though it's harder to find. B12 and iron can be found in most enriched cereals, dark leafy greens and beans.

Beans, nuts, eggs and soy products also have high protein contents.
