Vegetarian Fat

What can I eat to gain weight, without too much fat if I’m vegetarian?
I know I can have protein from cheese and yogurt, but those have a lot of fat too. Chicken is a good protein source but I’m vegetarian. How can I gain some weight without gaining fat?
I want my muscles to get bigger but not my belly, if you know what I mean.
The only way to get bigger muscles is to work them out. Eating only doesn’t make muscle grow, only activity does. If you take 1500 calories to sustain your weight, and eat 2000 calories in hopes of gaining muscle…that wont work. That 500 calories will be stored as fat, as there is no use for it. However if you worked out your muscle, and they need calories to heal you will get that 500 calories moved into healing/repairing your muscle. Cause and effect.
