I’ve Never Met A Healthy Looking Vegan… Do They Actually Exist?
ByI don’t mean Vegetarians… I’ve seen vegetarians of all shapes and sizes. Some of them are really fit and healthy, others are sallow and boney and others are even obese. But vegans on the other hand, I’ve only met ones that were really skinny, pale and sickly looking. Despite their appearance they would insist that their diet was super healthy and superior to other diets… it just seems extreme to me. And if the Vegan Diet is so great why do vegans have to use so many supplements in order to get just basic nutrition?

I know EXACTLY what you mean! I too have also seen some very pale, sickly looking vegans out there. The REAL problem is that many of them don’t know how to PROPERLY implement the Vegan lifestyle and they wind up being deficient. It is a tough lifestyle to follow! Ive tried it and could not continue happily. On the other hand i have met MANY very healthy looking vegans and raw food vegans too! A place called Ann Wigmore’s in PR, Optimum Health Institute in California, and Hippocrates in Palm springs all teach a raw food diet and how to do it and stay healthy. I have been to all three places, they are wonderful places to learn, especially Hippocrates, but its the most expensive. I am not following that plan now, but do eat at least a 50% vegetable diet. The human body was designed to need protein and if they are taking supplements for this It just proves that point.
I have been a Vegan for 12 months, and a veggie for 5 years prior to that. I look very healthy, not skinny nor under weight but athletic. I am not pale, I am mediterranea so I am tanned in the summer and paler in winter (which is actually a good thing so my body can make some vitamin D)
I run, cycle, swim, climb and canoe every week.
There are also plenty of athletes that have trained on Vegan Diets (for example Carl Lewis)…
However, I would say that a Vegan Diet does not have to be healthy, just like any other diet it requires enough calories and nutrients. And there are other factors like exercise and rest that affect how healthy a person is and looks.
Same concept as I’ve only met men who are nasty to women do they exist? They exist we just haven’t met them yet.
I have several Vegan friends and they all look sickly. They are constantly sick and complain of headaches, etc. I feel like telling them “Maybe you SHOULD eat meat”, but I don’t. I just let them believe that they’re healthy.
I am skinny, not pale nor sickly looking. I am insisting that my diet is healthy and superior to other diets. I don’t use not one supplement in my life…I eat minestrone, vegetable soups, tofu stuffed shells, broccoli in garlic sauce, rice and beans, bean burrito, tacos, bruschetta, spaghetti with marinara sauce, pasta primavera, cooked green bananas, of course lots of fruits and vegetables (raw when possible)…lettuce, tomatoes, apples, oranges, pears, mangos, passion fruit juice, kiwis, lots of greens, not so often maybe a good veggie burger, or pesto salad, or hummus…I love to eat and food is my passion, as long as it never had a central nervous system….It is good for the environment because we are currently competing with factory farms for clean water and farms are being infected with animal feces. Humans don’t need to eat flesh or bodily fluids from disease animals. Meat nor dairy have fiber, so your body becomes a corpse, a graveyard for the dead animals that toxify your body…PLEASE READ, INFORM YOURSELF, AND EDUCATE when you finally learn…Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Actually vegans are more prone to being fat cuz they tend to “O.D” on carbohydrates. The whole skinny, pale thing is a myth. Usually, if you meet a skinny Vegan, they’re “cheating”.
i dont think that only eating vegatables and fruits is healthy i mean i dont think they get enough calories everyday while on the other hand people who eat meat constantly with everymeal consume too much, i dont like alot of meat espically which company made it because companysare so cruel to animals and people say so what i dont care but what if god had made you a chicken then id bet you would care i have never met a truly selfless person(espically americans) nobody cares about anybody but their selfs nowadays

Mark Danzig mixed martial artist and Vegan — also google vegan body building sites. Its a lot harder with a vegan lifestyle because only california has a vegan store every block.
I am a Vegan and I believe I am as healthy as I ever was, if not more. I don’t take a lot of supplements. I simply take one vitamin a day, which is not strange for people of any diet. I am sure that if you remove the bias from your mind and eyes, you will see that the number of people who are actually healthy will be the same for both meat and meat free diets. This is due to the fact that people don’t know how to eat healthy, no matter the diet they are on. I get plenty of protein from beans and nuts, by the way.
1 in 4 omnivores are obese, fyi.
