Is Quitting All Animal Products And Becoming a Vegan Good for Your Health?
By
It can be, just be very sure you get vitamin B12 every day in some form. B12 is only found in animal products and nutritional yeast. Most vegans take nutritional yeast supplements or use it in recipes or take B12 tablets. A B12 deficiency can mimic Alzheimer's. Fortunately its reversible when you take the B12 but you don't want it to get that bad in the first place.
Also you must be sure to get enough protein. Generally 1 part beans or seeds to 3 parts grains equal the same amino acid balance you'd get in animal protein.
Its best to get a good book on nutritional and Vegan Diet before jumping into it.

You have to be sure that you take the suppliments recommended because there are things your body needs that it can't manufacture, which it usually gets from meats.
If you're interested in going Vegan, I would recommend talking to a nutritionist to make sure you don't short your body on stuff.

Not really. Your body needs the protein from the meat.
I knew a lady who stopped eating meat and almost died from it.
She began eating it again and is better, but she still has stomach issues from it.

In some ways. But, I don't really think that its that good. Meat and dairy are good for you. And people who are Vegan tend to load up on junk since they think that they are eating "really healthy". So I like my meat and cheese. And hey its good for you.

No. Homo Sapiens is omnivorous. We are incapable of synthesizing some nutrients on our own. If you are motivated to become Vegan due to some social belief, then be sure your diet is balance by some artificial means.

Yes, it's very good for you if you make sure to get your protein from other sources like legumes and soy. Don't just do it though- read up on it, and do it correctly. You can mess up your system if you don't get the right balance of nutrients and vitamins. PETA puts out a lot of great books on the subject if you want to check it out.
