Is Cooking In A Slow Cooker Still Part Of A Raw Vegan Diet?

By admin

I am a new Vegan and I am thinking about becoming a raw vegan but I am not sure as to how to prepare my foods. If a slow cooker is not a part of a raw Vegan Diet, what else can I do to soften my foods that I may have a variety in my vegan life style? Can I soke my foods as well?

A lot of (if not most) slow cookers can be set to a certain temperature. As long as you are slow cooking at temperatures lower than 118F (which still gets vegetables nicely mush, although takes a bit longer) you are keeping all of the enzymes intact. Soaking is fine, however it doesn't help much in slow cooking. Also, if you are soaking vegetables or legumes, use spring or artesian water, do not use distilled. Distilled water is only good for rinsing your produce, not consumption.
Hope that gives you an idea
