<p>Most everyone has heard about carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), but what about RSI? Repetitive strain injury has become one of the biggest problems related to the use of your arm. In the older days it was simply called, &#8220;Writer&#8217;s Cramp,&#8221; but today it&#8217;s a much more serious issue. If you are experiencing pain and spasms in your hand, swelling, or weakness that particular area you could have contracted it. This means you are experiencing tissue damage and carpal tunnel is here. However, in today&#8217;s world it&#8217;s nice to know yoga can help.</p>
<p>The idea is that repeated, continuous usage of the hand and arm for long periods of time caused tissue damage, followed by swelling, pain, and weakness in the affected area. Here, carpal tunnel exercises using yoga can help. Perhaps the fact that the fact that RSI is so similar to writer&#8217;s cramp, it has also been given many names. RSI also goes by the aliases Cumulative Trauma Disorder, Occupational Overuse Syndrome, non-specific arm pain, and Work-Related Upper Arm Disorder. </p>
<p>Tendons in your wrist move their way up to your fingers in order to allow them to flex. When carpal tunnel comes along your median nerve becomes compress which eventually can result in CTS. However it&#8217;s often mistaken for simple arm pain that develops from work. No one really knows why it happens, but the symptoms can become intolerable and constant throughout the evening. You will find many symptoms along the way, although feeling numb, a lot of burning and even the occasional prickling feeling are common symptoms.</p>
<p>CTS is often a mistaken diagnosis for work-related arm pain. The reason why CTS happens is unknown. Its effects are also rather bizarre: symptoms experienced only at night and waking in the night for no apparent reason are some such effects. </p>
<p>Whatever the case may be, if you have carpal tunnel it is quite manageable. You can opt for surgery; get steroid injections, or wraps to help control the pain. Unfortunately this doesn&#8217;t solve the problem. That&#8217;s when you need to start taking a look at yoga. It allows you to stretch and release pressure, which is extremely important when it comes to CTS or RSI.</p>
<p>Although they were originally made to facilitate meditation in addition to health, today yoga is practiced mostly for its health benefits. Practitioners of yoga, or yogis are they are called, are found all over the world due o the popularity of yoga. In carpal tunnel exercises using yoga, various parts and sometimes the whole of the body is held in various positions. </p>
<p>So how does yoga work? In short you hold various positions for longer periods of time. What this does is allow the muscles and tendons to stretch out and experience slight amounts of strain. You will soon find yourself with massive amounts of flexibility and the rush of experiencing healthy arms when you work. However, this isn&#8217;t something you do a couple times and everything fixed. Once you&#8217;ve become healthy again, it&#8217;s important to integrate yoga into your daily routine. If you need to get physical therapy then they will focus on specific treatments to help your bones, muscles and ligament to gain strength and flexibility.  These therapies will range from using exercise equipment to receiving massage therapy with a massage chair.</p>
<p>You may have just undergone surgery or are able to recover with surgery.  The physical therapist must be able to handle a wide variety of situations for their patients.  They are going to design a specific regimen for you to follow.  Their goals are to restore flexibility and also to help strengthen the injured or stressed areas.  Your therapist is an expert in the make up of the muscle and skeletal systems.  They also must know about typical surgery procedures.  This helps them understand how scar tissue may form deeper within the body.  You will use exercise equipment and perhaps a massage chair to help you heal the injury.</p>
<p>If you are a professional athlete your goals are going to be different than if you play sport occasionally.  Your physical therapist will consult with you on a direction and time line that fits your needs.  An athlete needs quick recovery and to restore maximum flexibility and strength.  Whereas the occasional player may take more time to fully recover.  In either case, you will be put through stretching, massage, exercise and more.  You will get to use various exercise equipment, massage chairs, free weights and more.  These are important tools in the therapist&#8217;s recovery arsenal.</p>
<p>Flexibility is critical to restore to the affected area.  Our bodies respond to injuries by depending on the remaining systems to make the body function.  This means the body isolates those affected areas from activity.  The muscles become stiff when used minimally.  The therapist will want to elongate the affected muscle groups.  They may have to gently twist and turn certain joints and ligament to get the muscle to able to stretch further.</p>
<p>Exercises are important to help rebuild strength.  When we have an injury, we tend to protect that area.  Protecting that area is usually to isolate and immobilize it.  In other words, we tend not to use the injured area.  This helps to prevent further injury, but at the expense of strength and conditioning.  To help rebuild the body, exercises help to build up strength, endurance and agility.  Physical therapy clinics have a wide array of exercise equipment from treadmills, stationary bikes, weights and more.  These help you focus building up a particular set of muscles.</p>
<p>When you are recovering from surgery most likely you will have new scar tissue.  Scar tissue needs to be made more pliable through time.  This will enhance the flexibility of the affected area.  The mobility of the muscle and also the skin is at stake here.  Massage therapy has been shown to increase the flexibility of muscles.  Your muscles when injured may also have the muscle fibers break into short units.  This reduces their flexibility.  The muscles need to be more pliable by elongating the muscle fibers.  Massage chairs use kneading and pressing massage techniques to relieve tight muscles and elongate the muscle fibers to restore their flexibility.</p>
<p>Whether you are a professional tennis player or a beginner skier, injuries can happen to anyone.  If you do find yourself in physical therapy, work on setting goals to recover.  Find yourself an excellent physical therapy clinic.  Make sure they have qualified people, proper exercise equipment and massage therapy.  And if you need massage therapy, make sure a massage chair is part of your recovery plans.</p>

<p>What is Articulation  of a Facet Joint? Facet Joints are posterior Spinal Joints that connect an adjacent upper and lower vertebrae together. The medical name Zygapophyseal Joint for a Facet Joint is complex in itself and difficult to pronounce. The Facet Joint moves in a manner that is medically known as Articulation within defined ranges of motion. Facet Joint articulation includes bending forward, which is known as flexion, bending backward, which is known as extension, and twisting to either the left or to the right, which for the Neck is known as Cervical rotation, and for the Lower Back, which is known as Thoracolumbar rotation. Flexion stretches and unloads the Facet Joint, while extension compresses or loads the Facet Joint. Facet Joints also limit range of motion in the spine, which helps to prevent excessive range of motion that can cause damage to spinal discs.</p>
<p>What is a Synovial Joint? Facet joints are Synovial Joints- the most common joint in the human body. A Synovial Joint is characterized by having a joint capsule, joint capsule fluid-synovial fluid to lubricate the inside of the joint, and cartilage on the outside of the joint between the upper and lower adjacent surfaces of each vertebra to allow a smooth gliding movement.</p>
<p>What is Facet Arthritis? Facet Arthritis or Facet Arthropathy is a degenerative arthritis-facet joint inflammation that can be one of the syndromes of Facet Joint Pain. Both chronic pain conditions can be caused by wear and tear, degeneration of the cartilage surfaces, joint capsule or associated vertebral discs, injury or trauma, incorrect posture-excessive forward head posture, or abnormal spinal curvature such as Hyperlordosis-excessive arch in the lower back. </p>
<p>What could affect Joint Movement? Facet Joint movement or articulation should be smooth without restriction. If the joint becomes stuck or fixated in the open or closed position or in the partially open or partially closed position, then Facet Joint Pain is often the result.  When muscles surrounding the Facet Joint Dysfunction become hypertonic-extremely tight and splint or support the problem, then additional pain is often experienced. The Facet Joint Dysfunction in itself can cause pain and the musculature that surrounds the joint could have a problem that is causing the joint to become stuck open or closed, resulting in Facet Joint Pain. </p>
<p>What are some Facet Joint Pain causes? Some causes of Facet joint pain are: Wear and tear, Degeneration of Cartilage surfaces, Joint Capsule or associated Vertebral Discs, Injury or Trauma, Incorrect posture, Excessive forward head posture, Forward Pelvic Rotation, Abnormal spinal curvature, Hyperlordosis-excessive arch in the lower back, Scoliosis-Lateral Lumbar spinal curvature.</p>
<p>What are some common Symptoms of Facet Syndrome for the Lower Back? The initial onset of pain might be related to a rotational spinal injury or a spinal injury involving hyperextension of the spine. <p>Are you moving poundages on your squat, deadlift, bench press, row (and every other major compound exercise) that all feel substantially heavy for your body? Are your clothes fitting significantly tighter? Are you generally beginning to gain a reputation as a muscular guy that people aspire to look like?</p>
<p>Worrying about the smaller details of your physique is a waste of time if you didn&#8217;t easily answer &#8220;yes&#8221; to all of the above outlined questions.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re still in your bodybuilding &#8220;youth&#8221; and don&#8217;t already have a considerable amount of muscle mass to show for your efforts, I would strongly suggest taking these types of questions and eliminating them from your mind until you do.</p>
<p>What is the reason? Don&#8217;t let trivial matters divert your attention from your immediate and important task.  What is the crucial thing to accomplish at this time? The goal is to place as much muscle and strength on your body as possible.</p>
<p>That&#8217;s right; forget about the nitty-gritty details of whether your biceps match your triceps or whether your chest is on par with your back. These are issues that you can worry about later on, but until you&#8217;ve thickened up your entire body as a whole to a significant degree, it&#8217;s simply not worth worrying about.</p>
<p>If you have been training consistently for less than a year and are still a beginner then you should stop obsessing over details. You should rather focus your attention on the most pressing and fundamental problems. Move to a good weight training routine and be very determined to stick with it.</p>
<p>Write down every single workout that you perform and place every ounce of energy you can muster on adding as much weight to the bar on a consistent basis as you possibly can. Grind out all of the biggest, most difficult compound exercises and blast through those discomfort zones with passion and intensity.</p>
<p>Go to your kitchen and eat as many as six well balanced meals full of muscle building foods each day for a year. </p>
<p>Drink your water, get your rest and take your supplements whenever necessary. In other words: PAY YOUR DUES FIRST!</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re in this for the long haul (and you should be, as there are no temporary fixes to be had here), then get yourself on to the most efficient path possible. And the most efficient path possible is the one that focuses on the fundamentals first and the details later.</p>
<p>This is the mentality you need to bring to your bodybuilding program. Just as you wouldn&#8217;t attempt a complex guitar solo without learning basic chord shapes first, you also should not attempt to fine-tune and balance out your physique until you have a considerable amount of foundational muscle to work with first.</p>
<p>Building muscle is not rocket-science, but it is a task that requires consistent willpower and determination. And until you&#8217;ve been &#8220;in the trenches&#8221; and have earned yourself an impressive and muscular body. Stop over-analyzing. Get into the gym and train!</p>
