<p>When a panic attack seizes you out of the blue, what should you do? The moment you experience palpitation, shaking or trembling, nausea, or excessive sweating you probably are having a panic attack. Instead of succumbing to the fear that invades your mind and body, relax and take a deep breath and regulate your breathing until the symptoms subside.</p>
<p>Sometimes people do not accept they are having panic attacks. They dismiss it as nerves but in extreme cases, people are driven to seek help and the options available are medication and counseling. Both methods are helpful but have their disadvantages. Medications provide a brief respite from the symptoms but can have unwanted side effects whilst counseling takes time.</p>
<p>What can also help is to try to take control of your panic attacks right when they happen. Here are some ways you can help keep your panic attacks under control.</p>
<p>Take a deep breath and breathe slowly and deeply through your nose, not your mouth. This will help prevent you from hyperventilating, which can certainly happen if you simply start gulping air through your mouth. Remind yourself as calmly as you can that this is just a panic attack and that nothing truly bad is happening. Instead of fighting the attack, &#8220;relax&#8221; into it by visualizing a calming scene and letting the symptoms dissipate. Remember that the symptoms are not going to go away right away, so stay focused on what you&#8217;re visualizing and simply let the symptoms go away on their own.</p>
<p>Relax. Sit down and stay in your relaxing visualization, telling yourself that the panic attack is going to go away in just a few seconds. After that, things will be fine and you can go on with your day.Remind yourself that nothing is seriously wrong and that you are simply having an overreaction to adrenaline within your body. Don&#8217;t be embarrassed if you have a panic attack in public, either. More people than you realize suffer from these things, so you will certainly get a lot of sympathy. Simply focus on bringing the panic attack under control.</p>
<p>Also, tell yourself there is nothing wrong but your body is reacting to a persistent fear. Don&#8217;t let embarrassment overtake you if you are having a panic attack in public. Go through the motions to cope with the attack and lessen or get rid of the symptoms.</p>

<p>You might have never had any sort of difficulty while driving when suddenly something comes over you without warning. It becomes difficult to breathe, feel dizzy and you feel an overwhelming sense of dread. You begin to feel as though you may lose control of the car &#8211; and this intensifies the fear tenfold. If you&#8217;ve ever had this happen to you, you might be afraid to drive.</p>
<p>You might receive the advice to drive more often to confront your fears. In your case, the panic attack is brought on by the thought of driving and no amount on confronting your fears can help you. But the panic attacks can be triggered anywhere and at unexpected moments. But what should you do if you have a panic attack while driving? Knowing what to do can ease your anxieties in case it does happen while you at the wheel.</p>
<p>If it&#8217;s never happened to you before, you may not recognize the shakes, clammy palms and increasing dread and fear as a panic attack. You might have been worrying about the driving conditions, a breakdown, traffic or even something unrelated to driving.</p>
<p>At the onset of a panic attack while you are driving your car, pull over. During a panic attack, it seems that all cars are racing towards you. That is just your imagination or ugly intrusive thoughts going haywire. Sit up straight, take a deep breath, and regulate your breathing until you are relaxed. Breathing in through your noise and exhaling through your mouth can lessen the attack.</p>
<p>Panic attacks can last a couple of seconds or for few minutes. Just try to relax and calm yourself until the attack subsides. If you have some water in the car, take sips of this, since dehydration can trigger panic attacks. Take a pill if you have any prescription medication for your panic disorder and ride your attack out until you&#8217;re thoroughly relaxed. You should keep some water and a paper bag to regulate your breathing in the car at all times.</p>
<p>Preventing those attacks is better than a pound of cure. To avert panic attacks, take vitamin B complex as part of your preventive regimen. This vitamin family is recommended for people who are stressed out. Since Vitamin B complex is water soluble, there is no harm in taking the vitamins daily to supplement your diet but ask your doctor for the correct daily dosage for your age and gender.</p>

<p>Never drive alone if you&#8217;re prone to panic attacks while driving; you may even want to have other people do the driving if you have attacks frequently. Having someone else along in the car can keep you calmer and prevent you from being overtaken by the fears that trigger panic attacks.</p>

<p>The first World Series was played in 1903 between the Boston American League club (now the Boston Red Sox) and the Pittsburgh Pirates.</p>
<p>Although the first world series wasn&#8217;t played until 1903, there was a previous championship called &#8220;The Championship of the United States&#8221; and &#8220;World&#8217;s Championship Series&#8221;, which the winners of the National League and American Association had played from 1884 to 1891. The Series ended when the American Association folded in 1891.</p>
<p>Ban Johnson formed the American League in 1901 to take advantage of the National League&#8217;s cut down from twelve teams down to eight. Ban Johnson and fellow owners raided the senior circuit and signed away many star players. This constant raiding formed the idea of a championship between the National and American Leagues.</p>
<p>The two leagues finally called a truce in the winter of 1902/03. The following August, Barney Dreyfuss, owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates challenged the Boston American League Club to an eleven game Championship Series but instead agreed to a best-of-nine championship The first three games were played in Boston, the next four in Pittsburgh, and the remaining two in Boston.</p>
<p>Some in-game action saw Sam Leever, pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates injuring his shoulder while trap-shooting. His teammate Deacon Phillippe had to stand in and pitch five games for Pittsburgh. He even set a World Series record by striking out ten Boston batters, but that record was later broke, as Dinneen struck out eleven Pittsburgh batters in Game 2!</p>
<p>The Boston Americans came back behind to win the final four games. The end result for the first World Series, Boston won the first World Series five games to three, winning the last four.</p>
<p>Barney Dreyfuss, owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates added his share of the gate receipts to the players&#8217; share. This meant that the losing team&#8217;s players actually finished with a larger individual share than the winning team.</p>
<p>The first World Series was a voluntary arrangement between the two clubs, and so a World Series in 1904 did not take place. </p>
<p>The success of the first World Series proved the new American League could beat the best of the National League, increasing the demand for future World Series&#8217;. And so in 1905, the World Series was made into a formal compulsory annual event.</p>

<p>All in the Mind</p>
<p>But where does all this begin? This is a question most people are asking when they try and deal with depression in bipolar. That question goes directly to the brain which is responsible for looking after our basic motor skills, such as walking, handling things and the way we feel (emotions).</p>
<p>Bipolar Depression</p>
<p>People with bipolar symptoms experience long durations of sadness, feelings of being pessimistic, hopelessness, empty moods, feelings of guilt. They can also experience worthlessness, loss of interest in activities that are considered to be pleasurable such as sex, sleeping too much or none at all, feelings of irritability and thoughts of death or suicide in times of depression. When in this state, they can be suicidal and wanting to take their own lives.</p>

<p>There are two main focuses of treatment; psychotherapy (non medicinal) and medication (prescribed drugs) for this mental illness. It is a serious disease that should be treated with careful management and as soon as the bipolar signs and symptoms appear. </p>
<p>Psychotherapy</p>
<p>Useful especially for those going through mood changes this type of therapy helps them control their emotions better. But, in  extreme cases where psychotherapy is not enough, bipolar medication is prescribed for this bipolar symptom to normalize the mood swings.</p>
<p>Drugs to Help Depression</p>
<p>Special chemicals called neurotransmitters such as &#8220;serotonin&#8221; and &#8220;norepinephrine,&#8221; are used by the different parts of the brain to exchange information. It is widely believed that the increase level of these chemicals are linked to the depressive mood in people although it has not been proven that low levels of serotonin and norepinephrine cause depression in bipolar. Antidepressants drugs are prescribed to lift up these brain chemicals.</p>
<p>Most Common Antidepressants</p>
<p>In the market today are many groupings of drugs available but, the two popular antidepressant  groups are:</p>
<p> Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRI) when this chemical serotonin is increased the mood improves.</p>
<p> Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOI) MAOI&#8217;s are very effective in fighting depression.</p>
<p>Final Warning</p>
<p>Your life is both important and precious. So all bipolar medication must be used strictly as prescribed by your physicians or your doctor. <p>Preventing Blood Clots</p>
<p>To minimize the possibility of blood clots, you must follow your orthopedists instructions closely. Blood clots are a hazard during the first few weeks after surgery.</p>
<p>Be On the Lookout for These Signs</p>
<p>A blood clot in the leg may cause the following:</p>
<p>Foot, ankle, calf and general lower leg swelling.</p>
<p>Your calf may hurt.</p>
<p>You may experience redness and tenderness below or above your knee.</p>
<p>Your chest may suddenly hurt.</p>
<p>Your chest pain may be accompanied by coughing.</p>
<p>If your blood clot has traveled to your lung, you may experience:</p>
<p>Shortness of breath without warning.</p>

<p>How to Prevent Infection</p>
<p>Following total knee replacement surgery, you may have a tendency to get an infection at the site of the surgery. The reason for this is that bacteria may get into your blood because of some other condition. Some examples are dental procedures, urinary tract infections, or infections of the skin. When this happens, bacteria may travel to the site of your surgery and cause infection around the knee replacement.</p>
<p>Your surgeon will give you a prescription for antibiotics to take after your surgery. You should take these exactly as your doctor orders. This will prevent infection setting up in your knee replacement.</p>
<p>If you do have a knee replacement infection, you will see these warning signs:</p>
<p>Your knee may hurt, even if you are resting.</p>
<p>You may shake and have chills.</p>
<p>Your knee wound may swell and become red and tender.</p>
<p>You may have a temperature of 100F or more that just won&#8217;t go away.</p>
<p>Your knee wound may drain.</p>
<p>Call your physician if you have any of these signs.</p>
<p>How to Avoid Falls</p>
<p>You could damage your new knee if you fall soon after your surgery. This could cause you to need follow-up surgery. For this reason, it is important to avoid stairs and use assistive devices such as a cane, walker or crutches. Failing this, be sure to have assistance from another person and use handrails any time they are available. Continue to be careful until you have regained your strength, flexibility and balance.</p>
<p>Double-check with your physical therapist or your surgeon before you make the decision to stop using your assistive devices. They can help you decide if it is really time to stop using them altogether or if you need a different type of device.</p>
