The Case Of You Versus Your Anxiety Sweating And What You Can Do About It
BySo your days are running together because you are subjected to stress coming from all directions and you just can’t seem to get a handle on what it is that is causing all the problems and making you a physical and emotional wreck. You forget that everyone is suffering from stresses of one sort or another, and it is how you handle those stresses that will determine just how much your life will be controlled by anxiety sweating. How about those guys way back in the dim annals of human history that were running around in hides and living in caves making drawings on the walls. Do you think they were plagued by sweating bouts. Sure they were. They had nothing but a spear between them and all kinds of huge animals that had fangs as long as your arm that only had one thing in mind; that was to have the caveman for dinner as the main course. I’m sure anxiety sweating was a topic of conversation around the campfire over a meal of filet of wooly mammoth as they sat around picking their teeth.
So now the question arises, what can you do about these stresses in your life and get this sweating problem under control. One of the first methods that comes to mind is biofeedback. You can control your breathing and your heart rate after you learn the ways to do so, and as a result you can calm yourself when stress begins to overtake you and stop the sweating before it gets out of hand. And then there are ways to get a handle on your everyday life; such as following a schedule that can be broken down into daily happenings and can be used to keep your comings and goings in order. Nothing causes stress more quickly than to have your life spinning out of control and you are watching it happen without being able to do anything about it. But don’t forget, also, that routine exercise can play a big part in reducing your stress and consequently your anxiety sweating, because when you feel good physically, and you are fit; then your mental outlook is much more positive also.
Another factor you need to keep under control so your stress level doesn’t escalate to sky high levels, is your finances. There is nothing more frustrating in life than to have your finances totally screwed up and every time you go past the desk or table where you do the bills, you have a mini panic attack. And we all know what that leads to; yep, anxiety sweating. Just think of all the fun times you are missing out on because you are letting your life control you instead of the other way around; and that goes for all those jobs that you need to have done around the house that you keep thinking you will get to “some day”. Get on the stick and get them done. Make a schedule if you have to, but take some action. You will find that the more order you bring into your life, the more positive you will feel and the less stress and anxiety you will have.
Now we move to an area that can cause the most stresses in most folks’ lives: interpersonal relationships. How is your love life? Are you married, divorced, widowed, alone; what’s the story. How much of your waking time is spent worrying over your better half, or how to get out of an unhappy marriage, or how to plan the wedding day, or just not being popular on the dating scene. The more you let these factors control your thinking and your subsequent reactions to them, the more you will be susceptible to bouts of despair and the resulting anguish and anxiety that goes along with them. It’s time to take the bull by the horns if you are suffering in some kind of situation like any of these and take some action. Step back and look at the situation closely and evaluate what your options are and what you can do about them. Don’t think too much about it, you can overevaluate too; just stop waffling and become decisive and act. Remember we are trying to save your health here, and trying to stop all those bouts of anxiety sweating that have become regulars in your life.
So when we think of anxiety sweating, what comes to mind as to what is going on in your body to produce all that stress and then all the profuse sweating. We have not progressed very far along the genetic trail since our ancestors were cavemen, and our bodies react the very same way for us today as theirs did way back in the dawn of time. There are only two reactions that are programmed into our makeups, and those are determiners as to whether we stand and fight the thing that is stressing us out, or should we head for the hills and make a run for it. Our bodies feel the stress and immediately send a message to the adrenal glands in our bodies that begin to pump out adrenaline so we are armed with the chemical ammunition we need to take care of whatever it is that is bothering us. But, if we don’t have control of the external causes of the stress, we react over and over again producing much anxiety and the sweating that goes along with it.
So what to do about all this. One of the best ways for relieving stress and gaining control over our daily lives is to slow down and start to interact with the natural world around you. Take a walk and really take a walk, don’t just amble along. Look and listen and smell, and you will be amazed at how much your system will calm down just by enjoying the pleasures that are all around us in nature. We are inherently connected to nature in everything we do, and when we let it flow into our senses, we revitalize that natural connection and it gives us the stamina to take on the stressors of the day. Our lives are filled with all kinds of techno gadgets and we need sometimes to just remove ourselves from that frenzied beeping world and slow down. “Stop and smell the roses” says a lot.
The answer to all of this lies in the fact that if you want to have a more positive life in general, and enjoy the life you have, then you must have control of what it is that is going on for you on an every day basis. Examine what it is that is stressing you out, and with having a workable schedule , planned downtimes for battery recharging and regular physical exercise, you can face those stressors head on and reduce them markedly. The more you are in control of your mental and physical status, and the more stable your life at work and also at home is; the more you will find that your stress is diminishing and your anxiety level is dropping. There is no magic bullet here, just good planning and a desire to stay on the straight and narrow that will produce the stamina you need to face down the negativities in everyday life that trigger stress, and as a result, when you eliminate them you are also taking away from your life those embarrassing bouts of anxiety sweating that have plagued you for as long as you can remember.
