With all of the different types and styles of golf equipment out there today it can be quite confusing for somebody just starting out. Because of this fact it is advisable to start off with a beginner golf set. It makes the decisions easy and need not be too expensive. Beginning golfers need to learn how to develop their skills, and with time these should improve. Choose the clubs that are equal to your ability, then you can upgrade as you progress.
We are starting, you need to get the basics down first so there isn’t any real reason to buy a lot of different clubs to begin with. For instance, a straight up ordinary beginner golf set could contain a Fairway 3 Wood, 450cc Driver, Irons, Hybrid 4-Wood, a Silver Diamond Putter and a stand bag. There shouldn’t be any more than around 14 clubs. Some people may select long irons instead of the hybrid; it’s a matter of personal preference. A lot of beginners like to use hybrids because they are multipurpose and that they perform the job of a fairway wood as well as the job of a long iron.
Selecting the right driver is important, and you need to consider the appropriate loft as well as the shaft flex and the grip. With a regular shaft you’re going to have more flexibility, as opposed to a shaft that has stiff which might be kind of hard to get a decent swing speed with. Most novices find that the clubs that they tend to use most often are the 7-iron and the pitching wedge. Probably one of the next buys you will make is a sand wedge which is a real benefit to helping you get out of the bunkers. My advice for anyone who is looking to buy, is to look at purchasing cavity back clubs rather than clubs with forged blades. You do have the option though to purchase every piece of equipment you need as a separate item, but you will find much better deals by just buying a beginner golf set. If you take proper care of your gear, there is a good chance you will be able to sell it when you are ready to upgrade.
Lots of times you can pick up these golf sets with accessories and extra items, so you want to keep an eye out for deals that might pop up. Just about every set comes with a complimentary basic stand bag. The set may also contain tees. There are tons of different brands of golf balls on the market, and of the most expensive brands aren’t going to benefit you as a novice any at all. If you are just beginning, then your main priority is going to be to get a lot of distance from your ball, so choosing the cheaper two-piece ball with a hard center is a really good choice.
There are some other things that might not be included in your beginner golf set that you want to think about picking up. A glove that fits well, golf shoes, and some waterproof clothing are all essential. In addition to the basic equipment, there’s nothing wrong with getting a bit of extra practice in. A chipping net can provide you with a lot of fun and some good training as well. If you were to pick up a putting machine, rainy days wouldn’t have to keep you from having some golfing fun.
There are lots of specialist golf stores and general sports stores to choose from and online retailers too. Often times golf magazines will run competitions that you can win a golf equipment from, or you can just browse your local classified section and search for the beginning golf sets.
