I already take calcium and a multi-vitamin. Should I take B12 as well?
I take a calcium not because I am vegetarian, but because I don't eat much dairy.
…
you are a vegetarian not a vegan, calcium isn't in meat. if so its not a main source of it.. so why are you taking a calcium supplement??
i'd recommend getting a blood test to check for any nutrients you may need supplements for. too much calcium can actually make bones a lot weaker and make you unhealthy.

Should a lacto-ovo vegetarian take any supplements?

I've been on a lacto-ovo vegetarian since May of last year. I haven't consumed any supplements though. Should I be taking any?
Which ones?
If you eat eggs, you get b12.
If you eat spinach, leafy greens, and iron fortified soymilks and whole grains, you get iron.
Basically, so long as you are eating a varied diet of fruits, veggies and whole grains you're fine.
All those dumb-asses who say you can't be a healthy vegetarian are ignorant and are basing all their OPINIONS off of dated old-wives beliefs fed to them during their youth. Trust me, I was one of the drones for a very long time before actually doing some research.
